I recorded making differnt kind of noises with leaves and other plant parts to use them as a base to create some monster-like sounds using distortion and filters. Recorded with a tascam dr-22wl and cut with ardour.

A series of wind rivers rushing through the turning oaks and hickories in illinois. Plenty of beautiful, swelling winds. Plus, a lot of dried leaves skitting across an asphalt parking lot. . . Makes a person peaceful at the upcoming autumn and winter season, while, at the sametime, adds a bit of sadness to summer's memories, now gone. Recorded on wednesday october 23rd, 2019. Although there are a lot of birds in the forests at this time of year, they were quiet today. A nice, peaceful, soothing snapshot of summer----recorded just 4 weeks after the solstice here in the northern hemishpere. Temp: 84 degrees fhumidity: 51%. Field-recording of wind in mainly coniferous trees on a cold winter's day in the mountains. This is a residential recording, taken near a playground and a parking lot. Recorded in stereo with the zoom h2n recorder. A crow can be heard flying overhead in the last 30 seconds or so of the recording.

Autumn is a time for slowing down and allowing yourself time for reflection and contemplation. The accomplishments and mistakes from the previous year. Especially if you make it a habit of getting out all year long and exploring nature, autumn can be a much-needed change in sensory soundscape. . . . After a busy spring listening to the many different warblers which come to visit and a busy summer immersed in the busy sounds of life----both human and natural----autumn's subtle, quiet muted soundscape can be almost like a re-birth for the ears and the soul. The insects, which had taken over center stage since august, are still singing---though now with a quieter volume and a more even sleep and though-inducing tempo. . . . . . . . Brisk winds from the north can be heard more clearly now----swishing, rustling the weedy, tan edges of fields. . . . . Hinting at the bite of much colder masses of canadian air waiting on deck for their turn in the months of november, december and january. . . I made this recording on the evening of october 4th 2014 at the edge of a field which was bordered by thick stands of oaks and pines of a major national forest. . . . . I couldn't help but pretend i was linus waiting in the pumpkin patch for the great pumpkin to arrive!. Recording made with my marantz pmd661 and a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone on a tripod about 3 feet above the ground. My input volume was 6. I hope you enjoy this soundscape as much as i do.

A fairly decent recording -- in my opinion --- of wind blowing through oak tree branches and rattling dead leaves. Recording made on saturday april 6th, 2013 using my zoom h4n recorder. My microphone, rode nt2, was mounted inside my homemade parabolic reflector. Enjoy.

I opened the door and stood in the doorway to record the wind. You hear leaves rustling on the floor and every now and then the wind accidentally gets into the mic as i don't have a wind screen. You hear a little howling as well as some squeeking noise through it.

Another recording of one of my favorite fall soundscapes featuring cottonwood leaves "shimmering", the lonely call of a blue jay and the soft sound of insects singing a little more quiet than they do in the warmer temps of summer. A recording made february 24th, 2019 in a residential section of a small midwestern town. . . The stiff north winds are rattling the remaining dry leaves. . . You will also hear the subtle singing of the birds that always greet you in late winter. . . Birds like house sparrows and starlings. From time to time, you'll hear the tinkly, nice sound of some wind-chimes hanging on the front porch of some house. The skittering of dried and old leaves scooting across the ground also makes an appearance. Enjoy this cold late-winter soundscape!.
